Itinerary


Saturday 21st January:

5.25 pm - Arrive Dublin Airport on flight LH4982. Met in VIP lounge by Chinese Ambassador to Ireland and Irish-Chinese Cultural Society and Ireland China Association members

6 pm - Light dinner in Sampan's Restaurant (in airport grounds)

7 pm - Coach to Cork.

11 pm (approx) - Arrive Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Cork


Sunday 22nd January:

Programme of meetings and sightseeing arranged by the Irish Chinese Contact Group (Chair: Anne McKernan).

10.30 am - Meet Lord Mayor Councillor Deirdre Clune at City Hall

!2.30 pm - Visit University College Cork, meet Registrar Prof Paul Giller and International Education Officer, Ms. Louise Tobin.

3.00 pm - Sightseeing visit to St Finbar's Cathedral

4.30 pm (approx) - Dinner in Edwards Restaurant, Kinsale in company with Trade and Commerce Minister Michael Ahern,T.D. and Mrs Ahern

6.30 pm - Coach to Dublin

10.30 pm (approx) - Arrive Berkeley Court Hotel, Dublin


Monday 23rd January:

9.45 am - Depart hotel for city centre sightseeing and shopping

12.15 pm - Lunch at the New Millennium Chinese Restaurant (near Gaiety Theatre , King Street)

1.30 pm - Depart for Custom House

2 pm - Meeting with Minister Dick Roche T.D. at Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

3 pm - Tour of City Hall

4 pm - Meet DublinCity Manager Mr John Fitzgerald at Civic Offices

7 pm - Dinner at the residence of Chinese Ambassador His Excellency Zhang Xinsen


Tuesday 24th January:

9.30 am - Meet Lord Mayor Councillor Catherine Byrne at Mansion House

11.30 am - Meet the President of Ireland Her Excellency Mrs Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin

1 pm - Lunch with Minister Noel Treacy T.D. at Department of Foreign Affairs

3 pm - Tour of Leinster House

4 pm - Meeting with Justice Minister Michael McDowell T.D, in Leinster House

7 pm - ICA Reception at the Berkeley Court Hotel


Wednesday 25th January:

9.30 am - Depart hotel for Dublin Airport.
