This course is for owners or collectors of anything from stamps or dollhouses to fine art and antiques, who would like to know how to clean, display or store them safely. Participants will learn to identify what collections are made of, how they are made and how to take care of them in order to prevent damage. Topics covered include: Ceramics and Glass, Paintings, Metalware, Furniture, Documents and Photographs, and Textiles.

Tutor Details
Erica Devine is a freelance conservator who trained in the conservation of historic objects at Durham University in the UK. Having worked for the National Trust in the west of England, she returned to Ireland to work for the National Museum in their conservation department in Collins Barracks. She then went on to head the conservation laboratory of Margaret Gowen and Co Ltd, one of the largest archaeological contractors in Ireland. She now specializes in the care of collections for museums and private collectors.
