Autumn AN137
Conor Lucey
We all take an interest in how we create our living spaces and decorate our homes: choosing wallpaper or paint colours, the position of furniture within rooms, and creating the 'right impression' by the careful selection and display of particular items. Those involved in designing the eighteenth-century domestic interior shared similar concerns. This course will offer an introduction to the history of the decorative interior in Europe, with special emphasis on the houses of Ireland's nobility and gentry.
