This course aims to provide an overview of the legal system in Ireland and an opportunity to explore how the system influences people's lives. This first part of this course is designed to give the participant a general understanding of how the Irish Legal System works including its history, structure and operation. The second part of the course will be of a more practical nature and will focus on case studies, which will facilitate the participant to develop a more practical understanding of how the legal system works in relation to issues such as driving offences, bullying and harassment in the workplace and access to the courts.

Tutor Details
Susan Murphy is a practicing barrister in the Law Library. Having graduated from UCD with a BA in History and Politics, she went on to complete her Barrister-at-Law Degree at the Honourable Society of Kings Inns. Her interests include Human Rights, Criminal Law and Equality Studies.
