'Godot, Love and Loss': The Plays of Samuel Beckett
SPRING LN255
Samuel Beckett revolutionised the theatre. This course will explore how his most well known plays re-imagine the fundamentals of drama. Beginning with Waiting for Godot, classes will consider recurring themes in Beckett’s work and also chart how he sought to reduce drama to an essential form. In addressing plays as both text and performance, the course aims to provide an insight into the philosophy of Beckett’s drama.
