Tutor Recruitment

The UCD Adult Education Centre is no longer accepting course proposals for their 2012-2013 programme.   If you are interested in submitting a proposal for future years,  please contact Dr Rhonda Wynne at rhonda.wynne@ucd.ie or on 01-716-7581 to discuss your idea.

If the Adult Education Centre is interested in your proposal, further documentation about the course submission process will be sent to you, and we will work with you to develop your idea.

Initial ideas/proposals will be considered to determine if we consider:

  • The course is compatible with the adult education programme and with the ethos of adult education
  • The tutor is appropriately qualified and has significant teaching experience with adult students. Prospective tutors should be familiar with adult education methodologies and have significant experience teaching adult learners. All tutors are required to submit a CV detailing their relevant Degree and Postgraduate educational qualifications, their teaching experience with adult students and the subject area(s) taught
  • The course is viable in terms of its appeal and capacity to attract a sufficient cohort of learners
  • The resources/facilities required to hold the course are available

Tutors new to our programme will be required to meet with representatives from the Adult Education Centre to discuss their proposal and teaching methodologies.

Courses that are included in the Adult Education programme go through a rigorous approvals procedure to ensure that course content and tutor accreditation is appropriate. There is no guarantee that courses selected for inclusion in the programme will run. All courses must attract a sufficient cohort of students in order for them to proceed. Should a tutor not be in a position to teach the course they have proposed, the Adult Education Centre retains the right to run that course with an alternative tutor.
