UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science research contributes to the development of Red Grouse Species Action Plan 2013
The Red Grouse Species Action Plan 2013 was launched by the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Mr Jimmy Deenihan, T.D. in September 2013. The development of the plan was in response to declining numbers and UCD research, which highlighted the endangered Irish Red Grouse population and the implications for conservation and management.
2013 National Ploughing Championships are a resounding success for the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.
The sun was shining down on Ratheniska, Stradbally, Co Laois, as it played host to the National Ploughing Championships from the 24th to 26th September 2013. The three day annual event experienced record breaking attendance and welcomed over 1300 exhibitors and 228,000 attendees.
With first preferences reaching almost 9,000, UCD remains the university of first choice in Ireland in 2013.
