Ireland has the 5th most innovative agri-food sector in the European Union behind Denmark, Finland, Germany and the Netherlands, according to a new report published by University College Dublin and sponsored by Bank of Ireland today (11 June 2014).
The UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science will host a major international conference entitled Driving Innovation in the Irish Agri-food System on Wednesday, 11th June 2014. The conference will take place in the UCD Clinton Auditorium and will be supported by the Irish Farmers Journal, Bank of Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and Grant Thornton.
The UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science are currently coordinating a Management Development Programme, organised for members of the Agricultural Science Association. The Agricultural Science Association is the professional body for graduates in agricultural, horticultural, forestry, environmental and food science. The programme will consist of three interactive and intensive half-day sessions aimed at providing both theoretical and practical insights into key issues in food and agribusiness. The sessions are facilitated by Professor Alan Renwick, Professor of Agricultural and Food Economics at UCD.
