Programmes

The UCD College of Agriculture and Food Science and Veterinary Medicine provides a comprehensive portfolio of educational programmes at undergraduate, taught graduate and professional levels, in addition to a range of masters and doctoral research programmes, which offer both richness and variety and are based on the solid foundations of research and scholarship.

Our programmes link teaching, research and innovation in a way that will not only form the next generation of researchers but also a wider cohort of graduates committed to both economic and social innovation and entrepreneurship, who will leverage the outcomes of research for wider societal benefit. This approach to teaching provides a context for introducing students to emergent fields of study that combine knowledge and understanding from multiple disciplines in finding solutions to the complex challenges facing society.

The learner-centred approach inherent in our teaching programmes facilitates students’ different aptitudes, interests, backgrounds and objectives. It accommodates varying levels of progression and recognises different levels of attainment which in turn opens new pathways and opportunities for non-traditional students, promoting wider access to and participation in higher education.
