Don't forget to bring your passport or EU national ID card.  This must be the same document listed on your application form. If you do not bring this ID document you will not be allowed to sit the test and you will not receive a refund.  Photocopies or other forms of ID, such as student cards, driving licences and GNIB cards, are not approved forms of ID for the IELTS test.
Bring a pen, pencil, sharpener and eraser for the written parts of the test. You may also bring water in a clear plastic bottle, with the label removed.
Wear suitable clothing: for your own comfort, wear layers that can be added or removed if you are too hot or too cold.  You will not be permitted to bring outdoor coats or jackets into the exam hall.
Do not bring valuables with you on test day.  You will be asked to leave your belongings in a secure room while you are doing your test, but UCD cannot accept responsibility for valuable items such as jewellery, watches, laptops, smartphones, tablets or other electronic devices.

At IELTS test day registration a finger print scan and a photograph is taken of each candidate. These security measures are part of a continuing strategy to ensure the security and administration of IELTS tests. The registration process is carried out by trained IELTS staff members.
The photograph captures the head and shoulders of each candidate and will appear on the candidate's TRF (Test Report Form). Test takers are required to remove any items which may obstruct their face for the photo, such as glasses and hats. The photograph and finger scan are stored for a period of two years in an encrypted database hosted by Cambridge University in the UK. The captured finger scan is only for test day verification and it is stored in a format which cannot be recalled, rendered or transformed into an actual image resembling a finger print. The photograph may be disclosed to Receiving Organisations for further verification of a test taker's identity. Please note that this process is now compulsory for every test taker.
