UCD Access & Lifelong Learning organises alternative exam arrangements for end of semester exams only. These arrangements are for exams to which you are registered. They do not include any unregistered modules, for which you may be assessed in the current semester (e.g. IX or I grade from a previous semester). For these modules please contact your module coordinator.

To find out what exam supports you are currently registered for please log on to SIS Web, go to the Registration, Fees & Assessment tab and click on ‘My Exam Supports’. PLEASE NOTE: If the supports recorded here are incorrect, it is your responsibility to contact us at disability@ucd.ie immediately to ensure that your requirements are amended in time for the exams.

The Alternative Exam Location is located in the Newman Building on the Belfield campus.

If UCD Access & Lifelong Learning has arranged for you to sit your exams in the Alternative Exam Location this will be listed as one of your exam supports in ‘My Exam Supports’ on SIS Web.

If you are due to sit your exams in the Alternative Exam Location you should receive an email from us with specific instructions. If your end of semester exams are outside of the scheduled two weeks of end of semester exams then you will receive separate instructions.

Please note that main exam timetables list the main location for exams (RDS) and not the Alternative Exam Location.

  • Please attend the alternative exam location Newman Building, Belfield, at least 30 minutes prior to each exam where you will find the room number for your exam.
  • You must bring a copy of ‘My Exam Supports’, which you can print from SIS Web, and your UCD student card.
  • If you have a query on the day of your exam, please ask the assessment office staff in D105, Newman Building.

You must report any problem that arises during an End of Semester examination to the invigilator in charge immediately. It is not possible to address problems that are reported after this time.

For students that receive extra time supports:

If your extra time results in you having less than an hour between the end of your first exam and the start of your next exam, please inform the invigilator at your first exam to ensure that you receive a full hour between exams.

If you wish to use an exam support for any mid-semester exam or class test it is your responsibility to contact the module coordinator at the beginning of the semester. Failure to do this may result in you not receiving your exam supports.
