UCD Entrance Scholarships for Widening Participation Programme 2017

UCD recognises that the associated costs of attending third level may present a barrier for some applicants in pursuing a degree. UCD Access and Lifelong Learning, with generous support from UCD Foundation, offers a range of scholarships for HEAR students, students who participate in our Future You programme, students with a disability, mature students and members of the Travelling Community. 81 scholarships were awarded in 2016-17.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for scholarships for 2017-18. All incoming first year students from the following groups are eligible to apply:

  • HEAR students
  • DARE and students with a disability
  • Mature students
  • Members of the travelling community
  • Future You students (click here for further information)

Widening Participation Scholarships are open to new entrants to UCD (first years) who have accepted an offer to study in UCD. Applicants must be entering a full-time undergraduate programme of study.

Applicants will be assessed based on:

  • Household income
  • Barriers faced in accessing higher education
  • Achievements in community, charity, sport and other interests
  • Rationale for seeking a scholarship
