OPPORTUNITIES

UCD UniLife Summer School 7th - 10th June

UniLife is aimed at secondary school students who are just finishing 5th year (year 12 A-Level), who know what discipline they want to pursue at university, but don’t know what path to take through their degree. Students find the Summer School very useful in confirming their third-level study decisions and many return to study in UCD.  This year we are delighted that the following programme areas/subjects are participating: Architecture, Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, English Drama and Film, History, Law, Medicine, Psychology and Science.
The students get an intensive immersion in a particular programme area or subject through lectures, practicals and group activities.

UCD Taught Masters in Irish Studies
Ireland: continuity and change

Applications are invited for places on UCD’s new taught masters degree in Irish Studies. This exciting new learning and research opportunity assembles a unique group of leading UCD experts in the humanities and social sciences to offer diverse insights and perspectives on Ireland’s cultures and societies from the earliest period to the present day.  At a time of unprecedented change and economic crisis in Ireland, this master’s programme aims to introduce students to a wide range of issues and debates relating to the Irish historical, material, cultural, social and political experience. The timely launch of the master’s degree in Irish Studies will provide students with the knowledge and skills to develop and articulate challenging and dynamic perspectives on Ireland’s history and contemporary experience. This degree is ideally suited to students seeking to deepen their knowledge of Irish Studies and to enhance their employment-relevant skills. The degree also provides a pathway for further specialisation in a relevant area or topic at doctoral level.
