How to apply online
Check programme listings to see if the programme you wish to apply for is accepting online applications.
New users must register before using the system for the first time. Registered users can return to the secure system using the username and password chosen when registering. If you are a current UCD student, you can use your student number so that your personal details are already pre-populated. Please note that you must have an email address to apply online as we will be sending you information about your applications via email.
The online application form must be completed in full before being submitted. Please take time to read the guidelines before completing your application.
An application fee is required for most application types. Non-payment will mean that the application is not presented for assessment. This is payable during the application process using Mastercard, Visa or Laser. The fee is €45. It is also possible to pay the application fee online after you have submitted the application. If you choose to pay by cheque or postal order the fee is €50. CASH PAYMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please note that we cannot accept cheques drawn on a non-Irish bank. Applicants who have not paid online, and who cannot send a cheque drawn on an Irish bank, should pay the application fee directly to the UCD Fees account:

Applicants choosing these payment options should include the application number as a reference number when making the payment, if a returning user. New applicants, who do not yet have an application number, should use the login Id.
You are only required to pay the application fee once in any one term (i.e. if you are applying for more than one programme you are not required to make an additional payment).
After you submit your online application, a list of required documents will be emailed to you. The documentation required varies depending on the programme you have applied for.
Alternatively hard copies of supporting documents may be sent to Martin Hurley, Online Applications, Tierney Building, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland. THE WORK REFERENCE FOR NURSING & MIDWIFERY COURSES SHOULD BE SENT AS HARDCOPY ONLY. Applicants for the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, who wish to send hard copies of their documentation, should do so directly to the School at the following address: Unless otherwise specified it will be presumed that all documents submitted must be originals, with the exception of academic transcripts which should be photocopies. Official certified translations must be provided with the original/copy documents where documents are not in English. Any offer will be conditional until we have received satisfactory original transcripts. The University reserves the right to withdraw an offer in the case of misrepresentation, or if any false information was provided, as in, for example, where the original documentation does not match the documentation on which the offer was made. UCD comes under the terms of the Freedom of Information Acts, 1997 and 2003. In the context of the Online Applications system, this means that an applicant can request any documentation presented as part of the applications process, including sealed references sent directly by the referee to the institution. Non-presentation of original transcripts may result in the cancellation of registration. Students who wish to have their registration re-activated subsequently will be subject to a charge of 250 euro. Applicants who wish to have their original documentation returned by post should forward a stamped addressed envelope. Please note that UCD can take no responsibility for returned documents that go missing in the post. Applicants should be aware that, if admitted to a course, they will be required to present either their birth certificate or passport as part of the registration process. NB The onus rests with the applicant to ensure that the application is complete and that all required supporting documentation is submitted on time. Failure to do so may mean that the application will not be considered.
Applicants may upload their documentation once the application has been submitted. Please note that this is the preferred method of submission for all courses and all documentation WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WORK REFERENCE REQUIREMENT FOR NURSING & MIDWIFERY. Instructions for the upload process are available here.
