Research Interests: Community development and drugs issues; community participation and social policy; inter-agency working.

Dr Muireann Ní Raghallaigh PhD BSS
Research Interests: Muireann is interested in issues relating to separated children seeking asylum / unaccompanied minors and issues related to asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants more generally. Muireann is also interested in culturally competent social work practice and in the role of social workers in working with migrant groups. She has facilitated HSE Cultural Diversity Training with a range of professionals. Muireann¿s other interests include social work training and practice generally; international social work; encouraging self awareness and personal development amongst social work students and practitioners; coping strategies; faith / religion and social work and the use of faith as a coping strategy; and Solution Focused techniques.

Research Interests: Poverty, income inequality, the economics of social policy, the Welfare States, health economics and inequalities, social indicators, the EU's Social Inclusion Process.
