Biography:
| Rosemary Cunniffe is a social worker and lecturer in the School of Applied Social Science. She is Fieldwork Organiser for the fulltime MSocSc (Social Work) programme with major responsibility for practice placements which comprise fifty per cent of the programme. This is an accredited two year professional social work education programme with one hundred full time students. She undertook her professional social work training at the University of Edinburgh. She has worked as a social worker in mental health, fostering and adoption in London, Montreal and Dublin.
Research Interests Rosemary is interested in issues relating to social work education both in the classroom and on practice placements. She has recently undertaken a study with colleague, Muireann Ni Raghallaigh, on the experience of undergraduate and HDip in Social Policy students of learning basic social work interviewing skills. She is currently engaged with colleagues Mary Allen, Muireann Ni Raghallaigh and Suzanne Quin on social work in Primary Care. She completed a Masters by major thesis on the topic of foster care. |
