Abstract
This longterm, ongoing, project explores the archaeology in and around Lough Derravarragh, Co. Westmeath. Lough Derravarragh is one of a series of midland lakes interlinked as part of the greater Shannon river catchment. It sits within the central bogland and moraine zone, with its northern end within an area of bog and its southern and eastern edges against an area of higher ground. The project will build upon a series of interlinked small, medium and large scale sub projects and will include work at MA, PhD and Postdoctoral level.
