Biographical History

The IRA in Kerry was organised into three brigades. As County Liaision Officer, Captain Mulvihill was responsible for receiving reports from each of the brigades, acting as the means of communication with the IRA Chief Liaison Officer at GHQ in Dublin. During the period in question, between the Truce and the outbreak of Civil War, communications are mainly concerned with breaches of the Truce.

Scope and Content

Communications with local IRA brigades and battalions, the IRA Chief Liaison Officer in Dublin, and Royal Irish Constabulary county and district inspectors, mainly relating to IRA raids, to breaches of the Truce and to civilian claims for compensation.
