MS B 44: Distinctiones super sacram scripturam of Arnauld de Royard ofm, archbishop of Salerno (1321-30)

• Fourteenth century, vellum, Gothic script
• f.1 shows a miniature of St Francis of Assisi and the seraph of La Verna beside the kneeling figure of the archbishop of Salerno who is shown presenting a book to King Robert of Naples (d.1343).

The three medallions depict St Francis and St Clare, and the evangelist St Matthew, the patron of Salerno.
