CONTEXT 
Biographical History  

Born at Dangan, County Roscommon, an Irish language activist and a member of the IRB, he served as a Cumann Na nGaedheal TD for Roscommon, 1923–33, and a member of the Seanad, 1938–43. A rate collector for Dublin Corporation, he later established his own business as an auctioneer and estate agent.

Scope and Content 

Irish Republican Brotherhood: material relating to the disposition of the residue of Irish Republican Brotherhood funds (1921–60); to the organisation’s attitude to the Anglo-Irish Treaty; and routine material concerning meetings such as roll books and reports (1918–22).

Cumann na nGaedheal: material relating to party organisation and finance.

Requests for assistance in applications for military and Royal Irish Constabulary service pensions (1921–46).
