Biographical history

Born in County Down, Fitzpatrick was a schoolteacher, novelist and historian whose best-known work concerned the Confederate War in the Waterford area.

Scope and content

Unpublished biography of Henry Jones, Bishop of Meath. Copies of published and unpublished articles on 17 century Irish history with specific reference to Henry Jones, Sir Phelim O’Neill and the Rebellion of 1641. Research notes and transcripts from primary and secondary sources including state papers, depositions and contemporary accounts, for Bloody Bridge and other papers relating to the Insurrection of 1641 (Dublin, 1903).
