UCD Archives Department is a bi-functional academic centre.

Its mission is to offer foundation training for archives and records professionals and to provide a platform for the continuing development of the profession in Ireland.

It functions as an archives service in a purpose-built repository, preserving the archives of the College; acquiring outstanding collections of private papers and institutional records to support research into modern Irish history, politics and culture; and providing custody for the renowned collection of Irish-language ëAí MSS belonging to the Order of Friars Minor.
