Digital Preservation Training Programme

Booking is now open for the second Digital Preservation Training Programme. This is an intensive one week residential course covering such topics as: planning and strategy, OAIS, tools, metadata, costs, risk management, legal issues, web archiving, access plus much more.

DPTP’s development is funded by JISC under its Digital Preservation and Asset Management programme. The project is led by ULCC, working with its partners: the Digital Preservation Coalition and Cornell University. It builds on the excellent foundations of Cornell’s Digital Preservation Management Workshop, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Places are limited to 24 to ensure a good presenter/student ratio and maximum participation from delegates. Booking is open to all and applications are welcome from elsewhere in Europe. Booking will close at 5pm Friday 10th March. You will be advised whether your booking was successful by email on the first working day following your request.

National Preservation Office Training Day

An interactive training day with leading UK-based conservation practitioners aimed at those with collection care responsibilities. The training day introduces participants to some of the main themes of preservation management for library and archive materials. It is aimed at all who have collection care responsibilities for paper-based materials, whether from a library, archive or museum. The preservation clinic offers participants the opportunity to discuss and resolve issues facing their own collections.

Workshop for potential library and archive users of the
NPO Preservation Assessment Survey

The National Preservation Office is holding a workshop on for potential library and archive users of the NPO Preservation Assessment Survey. The cost will be £55 plus VAT, which includes refreshments. Lunch is not provided but participants can use the British Library's restaurant or cafe. Numbers are limited to ten.
