I’m developing metabarcoding approaches (laboratory and bioinformatic) to assess levels of biodiversity using eDNA samples from Irish freshwaters. Additionally, I am developing qPCR probes to detect the presence and possibly quantify the relative biomass of twaite and allis shad, and the white clawed crayfish.

My research interests include global and regional distribution of fauna endemic to cold seeps, and the genetic connectivity between populations in seep communities.
