Biography:
| Philip Cottrell obtained his doctorate from the University of St Andrews in 2001. His thesis, 'Bonifacio's Enterprise - Bonifacio de' Pitati and Venetian Painting', forms the basis of a forthcoming book he is co-authoring with Peter Humfrey. Between 1997-9 he was co-editor of Inferno - The St Andrews Journal of Art History, and more recently he has served on the committee of the Irish Association of Art Historians. In this capacity he was instrumental in establishing Artefact, the association's journal, for which he also acted as an academic advisor. He has obtained research awards from the Russell Trust, The Carnegie Trust for Scotland, the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation of New York, the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the Royal Irish Academy, and the National University of Ireland. |
