Professor Maeve Conrick - Governor General's International Award in Canadian Studies
Professor Maeve Conrick has been awarded the Governor General’s International Award in Canadian Studies by the International Council for Canadian Studies (ICCS). The award recognises ‘a researcher who has made an outstanding contribution to scholarship and to the development of Canadian Studies internationally’. Professor Maeve Conrick is Professor and former Principal of the College of Arts and Humanities at University College Dublin.
Her research interests are in the areas of Sociolinguistics and Applied Linguistics, with particular reference to French and English, and include Language Policy and Language Planning, Language and Gender, Canadian Studies and Québec studies.
The International Council for Canadian Studies is a not-for-profit organization that brings together twenty-three national and multinational Canadian studies associations and five associate members in thirty-nine countries. ICCS’ mandate is to promote worldwide research, teaching and publications on the study of Canada.
