BA advice session on registration, student support and subject/modules choices

On Tuesday August 27th 2013 from 2-4pm in the Newman Concourse (around Theatre P & Q) you can learn more about how to register for your subjects/modules and also the kinds of student supports available to you as an Arts student and during your time in UCD.

 

There will also be academic staff available at stands to offer advice on subject (e.g. English, Philosophy) and module choices (within each subject you select a number of modules (e.g. for English you might choose Literature in Context 1, or Philosophy you might choose Introduction to Modern Philosophy). So it is very useful for you to come to this.

 

This session will take place in the Newman Building – as a BA student most of your lectures and tutorials are in this building.

Re-Orientate - Semester 2! 2013

A compulsory session for all BA first years on Thursday January 24th at 2-3pm or at 3-4pm Theatre L.

Arts Open Evening Thursday 25th October 6.30-8.30pm, UCD Newman Building

The Open Evening is for any prospective student who wishes to learn more about the BA in UCD and the opportunities it provides. You can speak to lecturers, current and former students, as well as going to talks about the BA. You can find out more about the support services available to students in the BA such as peer mentoring, as well as the academic assistance available to help students transition from second level to the university learning environment. Staff will be available answer all your queries concerning the subjects on offer in the BA and the great experience that the BA in UCD provides.

For incoming BA (Arts) first years (Sept. 2012) only - an advice session on registration, student supports and subject/modules choices

On Monday August 27th from 2-4pm in the Newman Concourse (around Theatre P & Q) any student who has been offered a place on the Arts degree for September 2012 can learn more about how to register for subjects/modules and also about the kinds of student supports available to an Arts student in UCD.

There will also be academic staff available at stands to offer advice on subject (e.g. English, Philosophy) and module choices (within each subject you select a number of modules (e.g. for English you might choose Literature in Context 1, or Philosophy you might choose Introduction to Modern Philosophy). So it is very useful for you to come to this.

This session will take place in the Newman Building – as a BA student most of your lectures and tutorials are in this building.

BA Information Evening 

You are invited to attend the BA Information Evening on Tuesday 24th April 2012 from 7-8.30pm in the Newman Building on the main UCD Belfield campus. This event is open to all prospective students and their parents who wish to find out more about the BA degree.  

It will be a unique opportunity to learn about this excellent degree and about how it is structured and delivered.  You will also have a chance to find out about the range academic and social supports that are available to students particularly in their first year of the degree. Light refreshments will be provided and academic staff from different subject areas will be available to speak with you individually and happy to answer any questions you might have.

Peer Mentor Celebration Evening 2012

Peer Mentors from across all programmes in UCD were presented with certificates at a ceremony on Monday 27 February in Theatre L in the Newman Building. Martin Butler, Vice-Presidents for students kindly sponsored this event and celebratory dinner, both of which took place to mark the contribution that all our Peer Mentors make to the settling-in process for our new students each year.

The Undergraduate Awards

The Undergraduate Awards is an international non-profit awards programme that recognises independent thinking and creativity amongst undergraduate students. UA accepts the coursework of final and penultimate students that has received a 2.1 or a first, across a wide range of disciplines.
