The 1998-1999 season was a fruitfull season for UCD basketball club. The mens intervarsity team won the intervarsity tournament for the second time in as many years. The womens team were also very unlucky not to proceed further in the tournament. They were knocked out in the later stages.
Both mens and womens did extremly well in their respective divisions of the Dublin leagues. The Womens B team consolidated their league status.
On the mens side, the A team gained promotion to division 1 and finished the season in first place. The B team finished in a respectable 6th place after a bad start.
