UCD School of Biology & Environmental Science

Scoil na BitheolaĆochta agus na hEolaĆochta Comhshaoil UCD

Welcome

Welcome to UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science, the largest School of its type in Ireland.

At the School of Biology and Environmental Science, we deliver internationally excellent teaching and research across the broad span of modern biology and environmental science. We provide integrated science to underpin environmental policy and sustainable management and in support of industries that depend on natural resources, including agriculture, forestry, freshwater and marine fisheries.

The School is actively engaged in four key areas of interlinked thematic research: ecosystem function and sustainable resource managment, evolution and population biology, plant sciences and cell and molecular biology. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to study programmes in areas as diverse as botany, cell and molecular biology, environmental science, genetics, world heritage and zoology. Graduates of the school are employed across the public, private and community sectors and hold positions of influence in large organisations both within Ireland and abroad.

Please spend time exploring our website to get more information on our teaching programmes and research activities in our School.
