What is the UCD MSc Plant Biology - Future Crops programme about?
In the last decade there has been a rapid development in our understanding of plants and their place in the world.  This has been achieved through advances in genomics, cell biology, physiology, ecology and studies on climate change.  This knowledge will be the foundation for improving existing crops and the development of novel crops through the use of new species.  There is a need to train graduates in advances in Plant Science to enable them the meet the challenges of the future and to equip them for subsequent studies and research and innovation. This proposed MSc will train graduates who choose a career path in the plant sciences. This programme utilises the expertise of the UCD staff in the School of Biology and Environmental Science, and would be interact with College and University strategic plans
