SBES Postgraduate Seminar Day 2011
The annual School of Biology and Environmental Postgraduate Seminar Day took place on Thursday, 8 December and this year the judging panel found the standard of the presentations to be exceptionally high. The panel particularly commended the presentations by Jim McCarthy and Rosie Mangan. Deciding on the overall winner was no easy task. However, due to the outstanding quality of the content of the presentation and the manner in which the material was delivered, the panel awarded the Carmel Humphries Memorial Medal to Rosanna Hennessy for her work on developing ethanol-tolerant Fusarium strains, supervised by Fiona Doohan and Ewen Mullins.
The Postgraduate Seminar Day is an annual event in the School of Biology and Environmental Science, which celebrates the diversity of our ongoing research.
