SBES Winners in the UCD Images of Research 2010 competition
177 images were submitted to this year's competition, representing all UCD Colleges and Schools, as well as Research Institutes and Major Collaborative Programmes. Subjects range from urban living to ancient stones, from cat scans of cats to the sound systems of bats and longitudinal sections of liver fluke.
As always, the School of Biology and Environmental Science was well represented. Billy Clarke's entries Fawn Dressage and Flight Control were two of the overall winners, while Jenny McElwain, Matthew Hayworth, and Serena Dool all made the shortlist. Longlisted were Anikea Mostaert, Judith Kochman and Serena Dool.
All 2010 winning and shortlisted images are now available in a digital exhibition on the UCD Research website: www.ucd.ie/research/images. In addition to providing a highly visual viewing experience, this exhibition provides further information on the research projects that are behind the images.
