SBES Seminars Autumn Series Begins 4 October 2011
Dr Dario Fornara, University of Ulster
Aboveground-belowground interactions and the functioning of grassland ecosystems
Human-domination of terrestrial ecosystems has profoundly altered carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) cycling between aboveground and belowground compartments while drastically reducing biological diversity. Dr Fonara's seminar addresses how changes in (1) plant community composition and diversity, and (2) the increased availability of C and N in soils, affect the functioning of grassland ecosystems.
Time: 1-2pm
Date: Tuesday 4 October
Location: Room B109, Science Centre West
Everyone welcome!
