Current Members

The club is currently on a magnificent run of form thanks to the dedication of its members, coaches & committee. The club has been producing Irish international oarsmen since 1948 and it is one of the aims of the club to continue this trend and provide the support and coaching necessary to achieve this goal.

Coaching is overseen by our Director of Rowing, John Holland who is involved with all squads in the club, from Novice Women to Senior Men. John has over 30 years experience in coaching at all levels up to Olympic standard. In recent years he has coached the Irish lightweight 4- for the Beijing Olympics, the Greek rowing team to the Athens Olympic Games where the double sculls won a bronze medal and in 2007 coached the Japanese lightweights for the World Championships.

Day to day coaching of the Men's Intermediate and Senior squads is provided by Colm Daly & Conor Walshe, both UCDBC Alumni. Colm also rowed successfully for several years with City of Oxford BC and coached with Glasgow University RC. Conor spent several years after his time rowing with UCDBC with Mercantile Rowing Club in Australia before returning in a coaching capacity to the club.

On the bank with the Novice squad are Jason Brooke and Dave Tanner (both past UCDBC captains).

Don't miss your chance to meet the different members of the club, from Anto 'Cool Runnings'  English to Donal'On your bike'  Murphy. Senior squad profiles available here, Inter squad profiles here and Novice squad profiles here.
