With a population of 30,000 at its peak it is not surprising that every day items are lost or found on campus. UCD Buildings and Services operates a Lost and Found service to help reunite lost property with its owner.

If you have lost anything always report it to UCD Services as it may have been handed in. If you find anything around campus, please, bring it to the Campus Services Desk at the agriculture building, or Blackrock services desk.

Alternatively you may check the UCD Notice Board as people may post their informations there.

Items Lost

When you come to the desk the services steward on duty will:

Take a detailed description of the item you have lost (e.g. type/brand of item, special markings, colour – anything that could help to identify your property). They will also take your name and contact number

Enter these details in the centralised database

Run the search in the database in case your item had been handed in If a search result shows a match between your lost property and an item registered in the database you will be inform of the location of this item

If your lost item has been handed in to us you can collect it within first 2 weeks once you provide proof that the item belongs to you (please have a student card or another form of photo ID with you).

Items Found

If you have found anything, please take a minute and drop it by the Campus Services Desk or Blackrock Services Desk.

What happens next?

A member of the services centre will take the item from you. A record will be entered in the database for the item found with its description, date, where it was found along with the time it was handed in and the item's location. Lost property will be stored for 2 weeks
