New Student Facilities at the UCD Restaurant
The UCD Restaurant serves over 1 million customers each year. It is a hub of student engagement and as such, the University provides a range of facilities which cater to the vast numbers of students that pass through.
The University has recently begun works to the lower ground level of the UCD Restaurant where the aim is to create a contemporary space within a building that provides a choice of meals, services and facilities. The current works include the creation of a student lounge that will foster a relaxed, collegiate and welcoming environment. The front entrance to the Norah Greene room will also be altered to improve the aesthetic quality of the building and the visual impact of the surrounding area.
In addition, a new Zen garden will be created to the front of the building. This will not only provide a reflective hub but will enhance the vibrancy of the main pedestrian avenue of the University.
Funded by private donor monies, the University commenced the works early this month which will be completed over the coming months.
