New landscape initiatives at Belfield
A key element of the ongoing capital development involves the enhancement of the campus landscape as a unique setting for our students. UCD has ensured that each new building on campus is considered in the context of the overall Ingenhoven Beltwalk landscape and is currently advancing landscape works associated with the UCD Science Centre, the Student Precinct, the Health Science Precinct, UCD Sutherland School of Law and UCD Confucius Centre projects.
Ongoing initiatives include the introduction of new landscape layouts, tree-planting, bicycle racks, seating areas, water attenuation features, enhanced accessibility and improved pedestrian and cyclist movement. Sections of the covered walkway will be upgraded, with the removal of selected sections to provide for improved fire vehicle access and servicing.
