Newman Renovation Works
The University is committed to creating teaching and learning environments in line with its Educational Policy as well as supporting UCD’s scholarly and research agendas.
As a result the Newman Building has been a buzz of activity this summer.
In addition to ongoing routine maintenance of the building, regeneration works have included the remodelling of space to provide offices, laboratories, classrooms, seminar, and breakout areas.

The works included the re-location and co-location of teaching and research activity for several Schools across the College of Human Sciences and the College of Arts and Celtic Studies. The reorganisation involved over 149 office moves and acts as a primer for the consolidation of the Schools within the Newman, James Joyce Library, Hannah Sheehy Skeffington and Agnes Maguire Buildings.
Renovations also included the provision of new student lockers and improvements to the lower ground floor area of the Newman Building.
