New Science Centre Building achieves BREEAM “Excellent” Design Rating.
UCD is committed to the development of a Sustainable Healthy and Living Campus as outlined in the Campus Development Plan.
The design of the Science East project has recently achieved a BREEAM rating of “Excellent” and is one of the first scientific buildings in the Irish educational sector to achieve this rating.
The Science East Building will provide state-of-the-art accommodation for undergraduate, taught postgraduates, research, outreach and public engagement activities. Phase 2 of the Science Centre will also include the refurbishment of the Science Hub Building.
Site works have now commenced on the next phase of the Science Centre which is funded through university, government, and philanthropy monies. The new facilities are projected to be complete by 2013.
