Refurbishment works to UCD Engineering & Materials Science Centre

Learning spaces, whether formal or informal, virtual or physical, are places where the core missions of the University’s teaching strategy intersect with the diversity of educational interests and research interests on campus.

A number of building improvement works have been ongoing over the summer months in the UCD Engineering & Materials Science Centre including refurbishments of lecture theatres, write-up facilities and lifts.

The recently refurbished lecture theatre Room 326 will open its doors to incoming students shortly. A revised room layout has allowed for an increased seating capacity and wheelchair enabled access. Other modernisation and improvement works include the provision of state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and the introduction of a raised seating platform to improve visibility for students.

The use of dimmable lighting, and new sound systems make this a suitable venue for a variety of presentation and teaching activities.
