As one of the key features within the main Student Leisure and Sports Complex, the swimming pool area will include the following:

  • 50 metre swimming pool divisible into 10 lanes,
  • Reserved training times for UCD sports clubs,
  • Spectator seating area for up to 100 people for regattas and competitions,
  • Wet class room for training and demonstrations,
  • Wet changing area with full shower facilities,
  • Fully retractable boom to allow for the sectioning of the pool,
  • A movable floor to increase or decrease the depth of the pool,
  • Guaranteed access for UCD students at peak times,
  • Open at weekends as well as early mornings and late evenings.

The glazing and roof installation throughout the building is now substantially advanced and the under floor heading has been laid. The lifts have been installed and the connection tunnels between the buildings are nearing completion.
