Student Centre Precinct - Swimming Pool
UCD plans to develop a swimming pool and fitness centre at the heart of the Student Centre Precinct.
The UCD Pool which will be designed as 50m in length is intended to be a training venue with a spectator capacity for about 300 spectators. The pool will also provide a leisure/recreational facility for students and the general public and will be use by a number of UCD sporting clubs, including canoeing, rowing, sub-aqua, swimming and water polo. This facility will also provide the infrastructure to develop swimming as a sport in UCD with the objective of achieving elite status. The pool will also be available to be used as a research facility for sport and health research programmes.
