International graduate programmes and jobs

There are lots of interesting graduate programmes providing great opportunities to gain employment experience abroad. These include:

Enterprise Ireland ‘Graduates for International Growth’ (G4IG) programme – this programme offers recent graduates the opportunity to work abroad for a fast growing Irish company.

IBEC Export Orientation Programme - established in 1983, IBEC’s EOP is Ireland’s longest running and most successful graduate placement programme; combining practical on-the-job experience, an international work placement and the opportunity to further enhance your educational qualifications.

European Union - For graduates with fluency in a second European language, there are internship and graduate opportunities available in various EU bodies.

International internship opportunities

Washington-Ireland Programme (WIP)
Originally called The Young Leaders Program, The Washington-Ireland Program for Service and Leadership (WIP), is a six-month program of personal and professional development that brings outstanding university students from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to Washington, DC for summer work placements and leadership training. The program begins and ends with practical service in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

AIESEC Global Internship Programme
This programme gives students and recent graduates the opportunity to take on a cross-cultural professional development experience with some of the top companies from around the world. The Programme specifically targets skill development both to meet the education plan of the intern participating as well as to support filling a talent need for the company.

IAESTE (The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience)
IAESTE is an international student exchange association. It offers students studying architecture, engineering, information technology or science in full-time third-level education the opportunity to gain relevant, paid work experience in another country.

English Teacher / Language Assistant positions

There are a number of government sponsored language teaching/cultural exchange initiatives that give graduates the opportunity to gain international experience, for example the Japanese JET programme and the Korean EPIK programme.
