In addition to our online resources, there are a range of Careers-related resources available to UCD students and graduates on Belfield Campus.

Meet with a Careers Adviser

We are happy to offer students and recent graduates an opportunity to meet with a Career Development Adviser for a consultation on careers related matters. Please see below for details on the types of appointments we offer, our schedule and details on how to book an appointment.

Quick Query

Students and recent graduates can book a General Career Advice quick query appointment with a Career Development Adviser for a 20 minute consultation on career options or graduate study. In addition to career guidance, we can also review CVs, Cover Letters, Personal Statements and Application Forms. You must bring a printed copy of your CV, Cover Letter, Personal Statement or Application Form with you to the session. (For online applications, please print out each page and bring that with you to the session).

We also have separate specific appointments to review CVs, Application Forms and Cover Letters. Please bring a printed copy of your document with you to the session.


From 3 to 21 December 2012 and 4 to 18 January 2013 we will provide an out of term time quick query service at the following times:

Day General Career Advice
Monday: 10.00am - 12.30pm
Tuesday: 2.00pm - 4.30pm
Wednesday: 10.00am - 12.30pm
Thursday: 2.00pm - 4.30pm
Friday:

10.00am - 12.30pm
(this session will run from 4-18 Jan 2013 only - not in Dec)

 

During the autumn term (10 September to 30 November 2012) appointments run at the following times:

Monday: 9.30am - 4.30pm  
Tuesday: 11.00am - 5.00pm 9.30am - 1.00pm
Wednesday: 9.30am - 1.00pm
5.00pm - 7.30pm
 
Thursday: 1.00pm - 4.30pm 9.30am - 1.00pm
Friday:    9.30am - 1.00pm

 

How to book an appointment

All appointments can be booked on the day from 8am through CareersConnect. Details on how to book an appointment are below:

You will need to log in to CareersConnect using your UCD Connect login to make an appointment with an adviser. We have created a guide for students which you can download below

Using CareersConnect to book an appointment 

If you have any issues logging in or making an appointment, you can ring us on 01-716 7574, or drop into the Career Development Centre and our reception staff will assist you.

We offer appointments to recent UCD graduates, up to two years after graduation. You will first need to register as a graduate using CareersConnect.

To book an appointment, you can ring us on 01-716 7574 or call into the Career Development Centre.

Please be aware that appointments will often get booked up quickly and it is a good idea to book as early in the day as possible.

The Careers Information Library in the UCD Career Development Centre has a wide range of reference and take-away materials relating to employment sectors, CVs, cover letters, job applications, graduate study applications, psychometric testing as well as a range of career planning tools.

Careers Workshops

During the academic year, we run a series of weekly careers-related workshops in the Career Development Centre.
