Research Interests
| The research interests of Dr. Lobaskin lie in the area of theory and simulation of nanostructured biosystems. His main scientific contributions are related to structure and interactions in colloidal dispersions, mechanics of biomolecules, and self-propulsion at the microscale. He contributed to the development of multi-scale simulation techniques and computational packages for soft matter research: MOLSIM and ESPResSo. Ongoing Projects: Multiscale modelling of biointerfaces and their protective function: computer simulation study of blood flow, endothelial glycocalix, and cellular membranes and mechanisms of systemic distribution of nanoparticles. Mechanics of microswimming and active motion: theoretical study of mechanisms of self-propulsion on the microscale, bacterial motility, and cooperative phenomena in ensembles of active objects (swarming, formation of metachronal waves, collective propulsion).
