Philip Kelly

first joined the Centre for BioNano Interactions as a visiting student in February 2010. He returned as a PhD student in September 2011, sponsored by the IRCSET EMBARK Initiative. His work focuses on using bio-functionalised nanoparticles to explore the interaction between nanoparticles and biological systems.

Philip Graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a first class honours BSc in Science with Nanotechnology. His final year project was carried out in the Biomedical and Environmental Sensing Group based in the FOCAS Institute in DIT. This work focused on the use of metallic nanoparticles to improve the quantitation of glucose by electrochemical means.
