Sha Wan

joined the CBNI group as a visiting student in September 2010, and she then moved on to study her PhD in May 2011. Her PhD research is to understand bio-compatibility and biological impacts of micro-balloons within biological fluid. The research work includes characterization of micro-balloon and protein complexes in different biological fluid and evaluation of bio-functions of micro-balloons following exposure to animal tissues. Ms Sha Wan is funded under the EU FP7 project 3Micron.

Sha completed her undergraduate studies in Hubei University (China) receiving a BSc in Biotechnology in 2005. Shortly after graduation, she continued to complete a 3-year Masters study in biochemistry and molecular biology in Hubei University. Her masters research focuses on the bioinformatics area to clone animal conservative genes H3 histone and construct phylogenetic tress to illustrate their genetic connections. Following that, she took a position in Hubei Biotechnology College as a lecturer until August 2010.
