Dr. Iseult Lynch

is the Strategic Research Manager for the Centre for BioNano Interactions, focusing on ensuring that research results from the Centre for BioNano Interactions are fed into appropriate international activities, such as NanoFutures, regulatory policy and standardisation efforts.

She is involved in several committees and working groups on the issues of nanosafety and the safe development of nanotechnology, and is an expert reviewer for several funding bodies and publications. She has a broad understanding of the field, and the emerging research needs.

Her role as the strategic research manager involves the promotion of bionanointeractions as a strategic route to addressing nanosafety and nanomedicine, ensuring that bionanointeractions science is on the research agendas of funding bodies, and working with a range of stakeholder groups to support the research agenda. In terms of securing ongoing funding and sustainability for the Centre for BioNano Interactions, her work also involves the development of research proposals from idea through to finished proposal for submission to the relevant funding agencies. To date she has been involved in the development of large scale national (Science Foundation Ireland Strategic Research Cluster and Higher Education Authority PRTLI4 national programme) and EU FP6 and FP7 programmes including Capacities, Cooperation and People, as well as multiple smaller projects, such as EPA, EI, ERA-net, ESF, HRB and others. The role also extends to interacting with and reporting to the various funding bodies.
