Dr. Lu Yu

started his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Centre for BioNano Interactions in September 2008. His study is focused on the synthesis and characterization of functionalized polystyrene particles for use in biological uptake and impacts assessment studies. He is also working on the labelling of these functionalized particles with dye, quantum dots and gold nanoparticles, in order to be able to track the particles inside organisms. Lu is funded via the HEA PRTLI cycle 4 INSPIRE programme

Dr. Lu Yu got his Bachelor's degree in 2003 from Nankai University in China. After that he continued to pursue his PhD in the group of Professor Yu Liu in the same university until 2008. His research field was design and synthesis of functionalized assemblies based on cyclodextrin and carbon nanotubes along with their applications in biology.
