Fiona Quinlan-Pluck

joined the Centre for BioNano Interactions in August 2007. Whilst completing her undergraduate degree at University College Dublin, she worked within the group on her final year research project. This involved investigating the interactions between the Amyloid Beta protein and engineered copolymer particles, alongside Dr Cabaleiro-Lago. After graduating with a BSc in Chemistry in June 2007, Fiona returned to the group as a PhD student to continue her research in this field, expanding the range of particles and proteins under investigation. Among the issues she is working on is the elucidation of the role of the nanoparticle surface and surface modification on fibrillation, and a detailed understanding of the mechanisms of nanoparticle-induced changes in the nucleation lag-time
