Jong Ah Kim

Jong-ah Kim

joined the Centre of BioNano Interactions in September 2008 when she started her PhD to investigate the interaction between nanoparticles and human cancer cells. Her research focuses on how the uptake of nanoparticles is affected by the cell cycle and other biological parameters. She is also studying the mechanisms by which certain nanoparticles might impact on cells to disrupt the normal progression of the cell cycle, and how this could be exploited for therapeutic benefit. She works closely with Dr. Anna Salvati.

Jong Ah obtained her degree in Biology at the Universidad de la República in Uruguay on 2008, where she carried out her final year research project at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
